Surrounded by Animals

Cybil is still a bit of mystery to Violet. She doesn't really come near her very often, she's getting very old so she sleeps a lot. Occasionally Violet is able to get close to her, and tries to touch her but it is a rare occurance. Notice Diego is never far away (she has been determined to say Diego but can only get D...O)

At the Park

Granddad and Nana came to visit on Saturday, the weather was great so we took Violet to the park. I love summer because I can wear capri pants (sorry Robin- I can't help it, I love the fact that they make pants short- perfect for a short girl) so I go Violet these cute capri jeans. They make her little legs look so cute.
She loves the swings now, she giggles and laughs. Thanks granddad and Nana for babysitting so we could get out on our own for dinner!

Visits

Violet got a quick little visit from her Auntie Bunny and Uncle Pickle, they are off to Mexico this week. We are super jealous, and Violet is wishing for a cute present from their trip (and Mommy would like a bottle of Tequila please)
Too bad you can't see Violets expression in the top picture, she wasn't sure about Uncle Pickle, was it the beard? She kept crying when he looked at her, but she couldn't stop looking at him every chance she got.

Weekend Fun

We finally got out of the house this weekend, I think it was the first time in weeks that nobody was sick! The weatherman predicted snow, and rain... are they ever right? It was cold but it was a nice weekend.
Violet has been doing awesome, we are still working on that sleeping through the night deal, but she now only really wakes up at about 4am, so at least I'm getting more than 2 hours of sleep at a time! Food is still a work in progress, she loves anything orange (carrots, sweet potatoes, & squash) but if it's green she screams at the spoon as soon as it comes near her. We'll have to keep working on that one...

She loves to wave her hands around and make some pretty silly noises right now. This morning I swear I heard her say Diego (Randy says I imagined it) but I think it would be awfully funny if her first words were Diego.

Sorry it's been a while

Mommy has been sick, Violet just got better, and Randy went to play in the snow... oh and the darn sun had to show up!
We took Violet on her first ride on a swing this weekend, perfect time for the batteries to run out on the camera! She loved it! I think we've found her new favorite past-time, besides playing with spoons (I'll have to get a picture of that one!). So instead here is one from last week, in our favorite pose, mommy kissing Violet.

Out on the town with the family

We took grandma and grandpa to Powell's books last week, and walked through the Pearl. The weather has been a little crazy since they arrived, we have had snow, hail, rain, and occasional spurts of sun (very rare..) Here we are with Violet in the ergo baby carrier (my new favorite carrier) every time we take her out in it she falls asleep on my back. She's very content to ride along and watch everything go by.
