Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful day with my family. Dinner, drinks, dancing, and of course great company. Violet really enjoyed herself and made sure she was the the center of attention.

Fall in Portland

Fall is here. The rain is here. I woke up this morning to a layer of fog below.

Oh Dear!

I am so behind!

I don't have a picture today to share, but instead a little story.

Today was Violet's open house at her daycare facility. All of the kids parents were invited to a Thanksgiving meal at noon with their little one. Violet looked so happy and proud (I was a little shocked by this).

We lined up for our turkey, stuffing, and peas. While filling Violet's place the chef (yes they have a chef) told me how much Violet loves her vegetables. Apparently she is the only child in the entire class that will eat peas, and ask for more. Really? She couldn't be talking about my carb loading child? We sat down and again the owner of the daycare comes up and tells me that Violet loves to eat vegetables. I really don't know what is going on here. I cannot get her to eat vegetables at home. Really, not one. I need to find out what the secret is. We have a little Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde on our hands....

Quilt #2

Somehow I found some spare time to finish this sweet little baby quilt for an employee of mine who is due any day.

Dress Up

On Halloween I pulled out my "dress up" box, it's full of costumes and wigs from years past. Violet found my pink wig.

More Halloween!

We spent Halloween with our friends Jen and Neel (and Ellie the little fairy below). Violet loved trick or treating and once she got over her initial shyness was very outgoing. She knocked gently on each door (often times a little too gently) whispered trick or treat to each house, and never held back when someone let her choose her candy. We had a great night!

Happy Halloween

Henry came to visit us on Halloween to learn all about trick or treating - and of course eat some candy. I have to say they were the cutest garden gnomes I've ever seen.
