Our Little Secret

I wish this photo would have turned out, but it still shows her adorable little smile.

Oh and my secret.  Violet has 2 daddies.  I've kept it under wraps, sorry.  Some of you already know because you've heard it personally.  Violet calls both Randy and I "daddy". Don't think I've haven't tried to change this, everyday we work on Mommie, or mama, anything that sounds remotely closer.

But, instead for now Violet will have 2 daddies.

A Weekend in Seattle

We were very lucky to be given a gift certificate to a very nice hotel in Seattle on Lake Washington.  As many of you know I have been to Seattle many times, since I worked for Starbucks for 12 long years.  I was always busy, so I was nice to head up there and just hang out with my family.
We took Violet to the aquarium, I think she enjoyed herself (see pictures below).  I have to say, she was a little angel for the trip, sleeping in a different bed, and eating out all meals.  She was a little lady the whole time, it makes me feel much better to know she can travel well!  The only hard part now, is that she wants to walk everywhere, and insists on this.  It makes it a little bit slower.

Inauguration 2009

We attended our first ever inauguration party last night.  Violet enjoyed herself, and especially loved the American food served (pizza and cupcakes!)
We are very excited of what lies ahead.  I can't even explain in words alone, I felt so proud yesterday as I watched the ceremony (at my desk) in Washington DC.   It will be a hard road ahead, but for once I feel energized again and believe that things can change.    What are those magic words?  Yes we can.

Dinner

Sometimes all I can do is laugh.

Too Bright

Even though it's been pretty cold here, the sun has been out the last couple of days.  Violet decided to wear her sunglasses to shade her eyes, and to look hip.
We made our monthly trip to Costco where she wore them the entire time, needless to say everyone walking by HAD to make comments about it, which probably made her feel even more cool.
Notice she's even too hip to smile.

Not forgotten

It's been a little while, I have no excuse aside from the usual.  We've been busy!
This is Violet at "hat day" in childcare last week.  They had a theme each day 1. sports day (okay if you know Randy and me, we have NO interest in sports... so that was a dud) 2. Hat Day!  3. Crazy hair day 4. Rainbow day (she has rainbow leggings - and was the most popular kid that day!) 5. Pajama day (which was probably my favorite because we didn't do anything to get her ready!)

Happy 18 Months!

Violet is getting big FAST, I can barely keep up with her lately.  She tried to put on Randy's shoes this week, and she did it all on her own.
She is doing really well with her words, this morning when we were getting ready I said to her "Hey my little cuddle bug can I have a hug" she looked right at me and replied "cuddle".  My favorite word she says right now is "water" I don't know why I love it, but it sounds so cute with her sweet voice.   We had a great weekend with Nana and Grandpa Barnett, Violet was the center of attention -which of course she loves!
