Swim Lessons!

Today was our first time in a pool. It was only a half hour class, which was the perfect amount of time. She did pretty well for her first time in the water, and seemed to enjoy herself - there was a little bit of crying and hugging onto Mommy, but we will continue to test it out! We need to get ready for Mexico!
Here is my little bathing beauty in all of her glory. Look at those thighs, just like her mother.

See the Cheerios in the background? She loves them, can't get enough, I have to hide them most of the time, because she won't eat anything else if given a choice (and still no teeth!)

More from Sunriver

These pictures were all taken at Crane Prairie Lake (Randy's new favorite spot in the whole world - it's where the big fish live) We had a variety of weather, rain, cold, wind, sun, warmth, when the thunder started we decided it was time to pack up and head back to the cabin. I think Violet enjoyed herself, she stayed pretty contained on the blanket but quickly realized there were more interesting things outside of her little square blanket, and that's when things got a little more complicated. We had a great time, and I suspect we will return to this spot very soon...

Multiple layers... I just need to make sure she is warm enough.

Clapping and waving are two of the most exciting things right now. In the background you can catch a glimpse of cousin Logan whom Violet thinks is the bees knees, all he had to do was look her way and she broke out in a smile.

1 Fish 2 Fish Red Fish....

It really isn't a camping trip without some fish - at least that is what Randy will tell you. Here are some of his "lunkers" notice the big smile? That means they were really big fish. Disclaimer - all fish below were safely returned to the lake in which they came from.

My cutie Pie

We just retured from a short family vacation to Sunriver. We had a great time, maybe a little more sun and warmth would have been nice, but you take what you get! I will post more pictures this week!
These are two of my favorite photos right now of Violet. There was this cute little step stool at the cabin, and she loved to lean up on it, I think because it made her feel like she was standing up slightly.

Dinner with the DeGroots

Eating is a bit of a chore with Violet, her newest trick to to refuse food on a spoon (unless it's yogurt) and really loves to feed herself. So now it's time to find food that she can pick up and feed on her own. Last night it was broccoli, sorry she looks so darn dirty. I thought it was cute at the time.

What is this thing called the sun?

If you don't live here in Portland, you may not understand that we don't see the sun really until July - there are small spurts of it here and there, but really it's rain until then. This week we had a heat wave, yes that's right a heat wave. Violet has had very little exposure to the sun, we made sure and enjoyed our short lived sunny days. She loves to clap right now, so the first photo is in mid clap phase. Happy sunny days!

Hair

Okay, so I told you I had to go to L.A. right? It was only for 2 days nothing special (by day 2 I was sick of seeing filthy rich celebrities anyways) I swear Violet's hair grew in those 2 days. She has this cute little "poof" in the front, it's so fine and wispy but oh so adorable. I can hardly wait for those bows, ribbons, and barrettes!
Also to clarify one question I seem to get A LOT... we have no teeth, yep 10 months old and I don't see any sign of them.

Happy 10 months!

It's Cinco De Mayo and Violet turned 10 months today.  I have no pictures to share, Randy went camping this week and took the camera, but I promise I will have something before the end of the week, I'm off to Hollywood tomorrow, I think it will be my last business trip for a while (I hope) I have being away from home (even if it is Hollywood...)  If I run into Brittany while I'm there I'll get a picture.
